KIA Soul Offers Comfortable Ride and Storage for St. Louis Families

CUV has roomy dimensions for driver and passengers while providing the storage space needed

Don’t let the size or shape of the KIA Soul fool you. Those who are looking for an SUV-style vehicle for the storage and comfort but don’t want to spend a lot at the pump could consider a KIA Soul from Jim Butler KIA.

The KIA Soul may seem like a typical boxy car, but the Soul is anything but ordinary. Those who don’t know much about the Soul might not think that five adults — let alone a family with children — could fit comfortably in the seats. That’s where the naysayers are wrong.

While the Soul is a function-first vehicle, it doesn’t mean that style and comfort have to take a back seat. The Soul takes its function and turns it into style. Sure, it may look “boxy” to the untrained eye, but don’t let the shape get you down. Take a look for yourself with a test drive of a KIA Soul. You can even bring the children along to see how comfortable of a ride it can be for kids and adults.

The interior is also of durable quality, and the leather accents when used bring a delightful contrast to the quality cloth materials. Drivers will be happy with the intuitive knobs and UVO infotainment system.

To make a great family vehicle, it has to be able to store items. Don’t worry about not having room for the kids’ sports equipment or even your own bike. The seats can even fold flat if you need more storage, so don’t feel out of place at the hardware store picking up some 2x4s.

The Soul doesn’t have to be flashy to be a perfect fit for a family vehicle. Those searching for an underestimated alternative for the traditional large SUVs should definitely check out a KIA Soul from Jim Butler KIA. You can contact us online, and our friendly sales staff will be happy to assist you in your purchasing process.

Braggin’ Wagon: KIA Sedona Named ‘Ultimate Minivan’ by Cars.com and MotorWeek

Winner of the Ultimate Minivan Challenger, Sedona is a minivan that offers St. Louis families more

The award-winning 2015 KIA Sedona minivan keeps raking in the recognition as it bested four other minivans in a days-long competition from Cars.com and MotorWeek. After days of evaluation and road tests of varying road types, the KIA Sedona won the Ultimate Minivan Challenge.

Before the road tests began, the minivans were judged on their technology, features and drivetrains. Experts and professionals from Cars.com and MotorWeek teamed up to closely examine these family vehicles. But it wasn’t just the pros’ findings that determined the winners. Opinions from real owners and potential customers for minivans were taken into account. If both the experts and customers picked the KIA Sedona, then you know it’s got to be good!

Beauty is only skin-deep, though. Great looks and features on any car are nothing without good handling and ride. A course of 135 miles was the testing ground for KIA, Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge and Honda minivans. Road types varied on the drives, and the judges drove the minivans back-to-back-to-back on the same pavement to measure the ride, handling, comfort, acceleration and more.

“The all-new Kia Sedona is a champion of quality and refinement,” Patrick Olsen, Cars.com editor-in-chief, said. “A great ride combined with a quiet cabin and numerous innovative features made the Sedona an obvious selection as the ultimate minivan.”

Why the Sedona won “Ultimate Minivan”

The judges were impressed by the Sedona’s style and looks, saying that the Sedona is the best-looking minivan and makes the minivan cool to drive. Cars.com and MotorWeek were also pleased with KIA’s ride and steering.

The Sedona stood out among the competition with its long list of features, most notably the Surround View Monitor to help with parking situations and standard heated and cooled front seats. The Sedona’s second-row seats are “magnificent ... Passengers will call shotgun to sit there, not up front” according to Kelsey Mays, senior editor for Cars.com.

This award adds to the Sedona’s trophy case this year. KIA’s minivan already won the J.D. Power APEAL award along with being named on of Ward’s 10 Best Interiors for the 2015 model year. With recognition such as this, the Sedona is ready to be your next family vehicle! Contact Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley to test drive one of these award-winners today!

2016 Sorento CUV Brings Refined Look While Still Maintaining Functionality

Third-generation KIA Sorento still keeps space expected of CUV yet keeps modern look

The KIA Sorento has been providing St. Louis families with a functional crossover for more than a decade. The form and functionality of the Sorento hasn’t changed over the years, but the look certainly has. Even though it has grown in size since 2002, the Sorento has shaken off the bulkier look of the past to create a modern CUV.

On the inside, the Sorento has grown to accommodate more trunk room, head room and leg room, meaning a more comfortable ride and storage for more of your items. A sliding second-row arrangement gives more passenger space for the rear. The cabin is European-designed and adds to the longer, wider and lower body.

Exterior changes throughout past styles that make the Sorento look modern include update side panels, LED daytime running lights and a strong front end. The available UVO infotainment system brings a modern flare to the Sorento, and the seats feel luxurious without a luxury price tag. Available features such as rearview camera and parking sensors help create a safer environment for the Sorento and its precious cargo.

Handling has been improved since the Sorento’s inception, and the 0-60 time of just less than10 seconds is impressive considering the size of the vehicle. The Sorento’s towing capabilities make it an excellent choice for a vehicle for St. Louis families as it can tow up to 4,400 pounds.

The 2016 KIA Sorento at Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield, MO, is proof that style can be functional and functionality can be stylish. When opted with the all-wheel drive, a Sorento might just be the perfect choice for your next family vehicle!

2016 KIA Optima Updates Include More Luxurious Cabin, New Engine Choice

Sporty performance sedan looks to build momentum as KIA’s No. 1-selling nameplate

The KIA Optima has been not only KIA’s best-selling model but also one of the most popular cars in America. However, KIA found a way to improve the sedan for the 2016 model year. Under the care of KIA president and chief design officer Peter Schreyer, the Optima built on its modern design cues and athletic identity.

On the exterior, the 2016 Optima is longer, taller and wider. These changes translate into a roomier cabin and more cargo space in the trunk. On SX and SXL trims, the iconic tiger nose grille design resembles the luxury K900. Three new design choices for the 18-inch wheels vary on the trim level, and three new exterior colors are available — a vibrant blue, dynamic grey and deep red.

New turbo engine choice and transmission

Three new engine choices for 2016 strike a balance between efficiency and sportiness. The 2.4-liter engine and the 2.0-L turbo engine will still sit happily under the hoods of 2016 Optimas, but a newcomer will now be available. A 1.6-L I4 turbo powerplant will be offered on the LX trim for 2016. Drivers can get up to 195 lb.-ft. of torque, and this turbo offering is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, a first for KIA.

Interior craftsmanship

A larger cabin with class-up touches defines the interior. KIA’s premium models such as the K900 and Cadenza played a role in the design of the 2016 Optima’s interior as more soft touch materials are seen throughout. More hand stitching, metallic accents and a more unified design showcase the care and attention for the KIA Optima by its builders and designers.

The interior design team also paid particular attention to seat comfort.  A stiffer seat frame reduces vibration and soft foam in the headrest and upper back, and denser, more supportive foam in thigh-support areas allows occupants to nestle into seats with deeper side bolsters.

Convenience and technology both see an upgrade for the new model year. The UVO infotainment system comes standard, and the 2016 Optima will have available Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on models later in the release, a first for KIA. A back-up camera is available for every Optima trim level along with helpful driver-aid technology. This driver-aid technology includes blind spot detection, lane departure warning system and more.

The Optima is set for another great year satisfying owners new and loyal with its engine offerings, refined cabin and overall superb feel. Check Jim Butler KIA’s inventory for the latest and greatest KIAs in Chesterfield Valley!

Next-gen Sportage Revealed Inside and Out Before Auto Show Debut

Redesigned interior gives KIA CUV an updated look for 2017 model year

The next-generation KIA Sportage will take the stage at the Frankfurt Auto Show later this month, but KIA fans can catch a glimpse of the 2017 KIA Sportage right now — and that includes exterior and interior photos!

KIA promises the most refined, highest-quality cabin to date for the next-gen Sportage, and the new interior shots show a definite redesign. New technology features and active safety features abound.

The redesigned dashboard includes the large display screen, most likely the UVO infotainment system. A flat-bottomed steering wheel and new options such as cooled seats and a heated steering wheel should be available. The cabin appears to give off a more horizontal look than its predecessors, and Edmunds.com said wireless phone charging should be a feature on the 2017 Sportage.

The same man, Peter Schreyer, who redesigned the Optima headed the design on the new Sportage. Noticeable exterior changes include higher headlights and a lower grille next to quad driving lights on both sides. KIA said the new stance of the Sportage is more “imposing ... and stable-looking.”

A GT trim level looks like it will be added to at least the Sportage line. Other noticeable features include chrome accents and a metallic skid plate.

The next-gen Sportage will be ready to take on the Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Outlander and Mazda CX-5. St. Louis CUV fans can find new KIA Sportages now at the KIA Butler, Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley!
