2022 Kia Seltos’ Blueprint for Serious Summer Fun Starring All-Wheel Drive as Standard, Ultra-Efficient 4-Cylinder Option

So many customers have wanted to closely check out the 2022 Kia Seltos this year here at Jim Butler Kia of Saint Louis, as it oozes summer appeal just like freshly grilled hot dogs, chilled potato salad, and a day spent at the refreshing and thrill-packed water park! It is our subcompact SUV on hand with a very affordable price, all-wheel drive, and a spacious cabin with plenty of room for a sprawled-out and fun summer trip.

Its smaller dimensions make it a snap to scoot through traffic, and it fits in parking spots that the larger sized of available SUVs couldn’t quite get the maneuvering chops down to accomplish. The available trims are LX, S, EX, Nightfall Edition, and SX. The base version powertrain is a 146-horsepower 2.0-liter inline-4 paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission, with the exciting available upgrade to the SX or Nightfall doling out the more powerful 175-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine.

All-wheel drive now comes standard on every Seltos, and we’d recommend the LX as a viable starting point with its Android Auto, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay integration, three different drive modes, six-speaker audio system, one USB port, and an eight-inch touchscreen. The all-wheel drive is sometimes a very expensive option on some of the crossovers that the Seltos’ rivals. While using a long wheel drive system, the Seltos gives back the very necessary gift for current economic times of 27 miles per gallon in city driving and 31 miles per gallon when you're on the highway.

No exciting summer trip is complete without seeing just how much you can squeeze into the vehicle, and the 2022 Seltos boasts 26.6 cubic feet of cargo room behind the split folding rear seat back. Some of the most solid and useful safety features the Seltos comes with are lane keep assist, lane follow assist, and automatic high beam headlights, as well as a driver attention monitor.

Higher trim levels offer the awesome additives of goodies like two USB ports, a 10.25-inch touch screen, navigation, remote start, a sunroof ideal for summer cruising, power adjustable driver seat, and wireless smartphone charging. Easily maneuverable, simple to park, and fun to drive, the Seltos is destined to become your family beast and capable of getting around in any season. One reviewer we had seen on KBB.com had claimed that after driving 3 to 400 miles per week and often over mountain passes, it retained a sporty feel and go-anywhere attitude, deeming it the best value they had ever bought for the demands and duties of the daily commute.
