2017 KIA Sportage Ushers In New Breed of Sophisticated CUVs

KIA’s longest running nameplate sees improvements inside and out, expected to hit dealers in 2016

At Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley, we’re proud to have served as a St. Louis KIA dealer this past year. We are always ready to look ahead however. As 2016 approaches, we wanted to highlight a 2017 model-year vehicle that should hit our St. Louis KIA dealership next year.

The 2017 KIA Sportage made a public debut at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, and the crowd was wowed. KIA’s longest running nameplate sees contemporary design updates for the exterior as well as a more spacious interior.

The chief design officer of the next-gen Optima Peter Schreyer also oversaw the 2017 Sportage’s transformation. Smooth curves wonderfully compliment the sharper creases on the body panels. The front fascia sees the most dramatic change. The trademark tiger-nose grille of KIA is still displayed prominently, but the headlights have been lifted up higher and now sweep along the edges of the hood. According to KIA, the wheelbase has been stretched 1.2 inches (now 105.1 inches), while overall length has increased 1.6 inches to 176.4 inches.

The interior overall is roomier and more spacious to enhance the KIA experience. The dashboard is designed to have two distinct zones: display and control. The display zone utilizes the instrument panel and new color touchscreen, while the control zone has intuitive climate and audio controls. Advanced High Strength Steel was used more extensively, and the goal of the 2017 KIA Sportage is to earn five stars from the NHTSA and Top Safety Pick + from the IIHS.

AWD will be an available feature for the Sportage if you’re the off-road type or want to tackle whatever weather St. Louis will throw at you. Under the hood, the 2.4-liter engine on the EX and LX trims churns out up to 181 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque to help improve fuel economy. The SX turbo trims will benefit from the turbocharged 2.0-L with up to 241 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.

While we look forward to 2016, we also are excited for the upcoming vehicles in KIA’s lineup. To learn more about new KIAs near St. Louis or to schedule a test drive, call Jim Butler KIA today at 636-256-9600 or contact us online!

To Tell the Truth: NBA All-Star LeBron James Responds to Real Tweets about His K900

Cleveland Cavaliers forward stars in new comedic KIA commercials to prove he drives KIA flagship sedan

Let’s be honest: if you drove the KIA K900 available at Jim Butler KIA, St. Louis’ exclusive K900 dealer, you’d be pretty stoked. You’d be showing everyone your new wheels and the luxurious features without the luxury European price tag.

Chances are, though, that you’re not an 11-time NBA all-star and NBA champion. LeBron James is, and while many celebrities and athletes may be driving around in a new BMW or Mercedes-Benz with the gaudy price tag, the Cleveland Cavaliers forward drives to the games and around town in a 2016 KIA K900. There are some skeptics, though.

In the latest batch of new commercials from KIA Motors America, James responds to real life tweets questioning his legitimacy in driving a K900. James claims he was driving a K900 before he partnered up with KIA to be the model’s ambassador, and with the 2016 KIA K900’s upgrades and updates over the 2014 model year, fans still wondered if he really does drive a KIA.

In the newest first commercial entitled “Ten Mil,” James reads a tweet saying, “I’ll bet anyone $10,000,000 that LeBron doesn’t roll up to the games in a KIA.” James is confident in his love for the new KIA K900 that he’s ready to take the Twitter user up on that bet. He knows that since the bet was made on the Internet that is, in fact, legally binding.

James is ready for the user to “pay up” and proceeds to head from his house with an armored car, probably to carry the $10,000,000 back home. The K900 is “fit for a king.” Two other spots are set to air through the remainder of the NBA season.

The tweets from fans for the other spots are:

“There’s a thousand percent chance that there’s a zero percent chance that LeBron drives a Kia,” (“1,000%”) and “LeBron drives a KIA like I fly a spaceship” (“Spaceship”).

The K900 is starting to make a name for itself, and with celebrities such as James driving it, it’s certainly a luxury car that is both affordable and competitive with European brands that charge much, much more.

To test drive or order a K900 near St. Louis or to learn more about KIA’s luxury flagship rear-wheel drive sedan, call Jim Butler KIA today at 636-256-9600 or drop us a line online.

2016 KIA Optima ‘Shines’ in Competitive Midsize Sedan Segment

Coming off a KBB Best Buy Award, the 2016 KIA Optima at Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley still continues to earn the compliments and praise from the Kelley Blue Book writers and reviewers. In KBB’s latest Quick Take on the 2016 KIA Optima SX, Keith Buglewicz examined the midsize sedan and saw that it was, in fact, worthy of its “upset victory” in the KBB Best Buy Awards.

“The impressively well-rounded new Optima boasts the style, features, and driving experience you'd expect from a class-leading midsize sedan,” Buglewicz said.

The KIA Optima beat perennial favorites such as the Honda Civic and up-and-comers such as the Mazda 6. It was that well-roundedness that propelled the KIA Optima to the top of the charts. With its new turbo engine, the performance has been upped. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine pumps out up to 245 horsepower to give some oomph into your daily drive.

Speaking of which, the day-to-day drive is where KBB said the KIA Optima shines. Buglewicz called the 2016 Optima’s dash logically designed which should be easy to operate in the driver’s seat described as “ergonomic perfection.” Rear seating is roomy and comfortable, making the 2016 Optima look better and better as an option for a family sedan.

When one thinks of popular midsize sedans, the KIA Optima may not always be at the top of the list. But as a Best Buy Award Winner in one of the most competitive segments in the U.S., perhaps it’s time to see what all the accolades are about. Come check out a KIA Optima for yourself at Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley! To schedule a KIA test drive near St. Louis or to learn more about the 2016 KIA Optima, contact Jim Butler KIA online or give us a call at 636-256-9600.

2016 Optima and 2016 Sorento Win International Car of the Year Awards

Globally-recognized award winners are in-stock and for sale near St. Louis at Jim Butler KIA

As KIA vehicles at Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley continue to win awards, the global recognition for the brand’s most popular models keeps trending upward as well. The 2016 KIA Sorento and the new 2016 KIA Optima were both honored with Road & Travel Magazine’s (RTM) International Awards.

The 2016 Optima was named RTM’s International Car of the Year (ICOTY). The ICOTY panel consists of automotive journalists from such publications as Consumer Guide, MSN and RTM. The last victory for the Optima as an ICOTY was in 2013.

The judges at RTM were impressed with the 2016 KIA Optima’s long list of standard and available features. The engine options in the 2016 Optima also wowed those at RTM as the previous generation’s 2.4-liter and turbo 2.0-L engine return along with the addition of a new 1.6-liter turbo engine. RTM made mention of the 2016 Optima’s value as well, something those in St. Louis looking for a new sedan will appreciate.

It wasn’t just the Optima that got on the good side of the ICOTY jurors. The 2016 Sorento, already an award-winner in its own right, won the International SUV of the Year Award. The available all-wheel drive capabilities combined with the premium cabin quality and protective safety features made the Sorento a shoe-in for the award.

The Sorento and Optima marked the fourth consecutive year that KIA won an ICOTY award for the brand. Previous winners also include the K900 and Cadenza. Courtney Caldwell, RTM’s editor-in-chief, said KIA is an industry success story that always wows the staff.

“We’ve never had one brand win this award four years in a row, but KIA has done it,” Caldwell said. “It goes to show just how exceptional the new KIA models are, providing clear direction of where the KIA brand is headed. We are near speechless at the level of progress the Kia brand has made in spite of the stiff competition.”

See why the judges were speechless with a test-drive of a new 2016 Optima or Sorento. At Jim Butler KIA, we know KIAs, and we’re ready to help you every step of the way in your KIA purchase journey. Call us today at 636-256-9600 or contact us online!

All-new 2016 Optima Garners KBB Best Buy Award

Popular KIA model takes top prize in midsize car category for driving dynamics, value

The 2016 KIA Optima has already started showing trends of being the best in its class with the latest award. Kelley Blue Book (KBB) awarded KIA’s popular nameplate with a 2016 Best Buy Award in the midsize car segment. After narrowing down the field to 49 finalists overall, KBB decided on 12 of what they consider the best 2016 model year vehicles, and the 2016 Optima at Jim Butler KIA made the elite list.

The maturity and ever-evolving refinement of the Optima were just some of the factors that helped set it apart from the competition according to Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning at KIA Motors America.

“To be recognized by the experts at Kelley Blue Book as a Best Buy among some of the toughest competition in the industry is a true honor and strong indication that the all-new Optima is poised to continue its sales success and the ongoing elevation of the KIA brand,” Hedrick said.

KBB knew that the midsize car segment is quite possibly the most competitive and packed in the United States, and this made the victory that much more impressive for the 2016 Optima. The design, features, value and driving dynamics all worked together beautifully to propel the Optima to the No. 1 slot in its category.

“No single attribute set the Optima apart; instead it was the all-new Optima’s combination of high-value elements that prompted us to bestow on it our prestigious Best Buy Award,” Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for KBB.com, said.

The mindset of not only topping the outgoing models but also its segment rivals is clearly seen inside and out for the 2016 KIA Optima. Inside, the cabin is roomy, ergonomic and comfortable. The knobs and switches are all laid out in a convenient fashion, and the trunk space rivals that of a full-size sedan.

Under the hood, new Optima owners have a choice of three engine choices. The 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine comes standard on the entry-level LX and EX trims, while the all-new 1.6-L turbocharged engine is exclusive to the LX 1.6T trim. For more pep in your step, the fun 2.0-L turbo engine powers along the SX and SX Limited options.

The 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty on new KIAs gives new Optima owners in St. Louis confidence. If you’re looking for an award-winning sedan with the style and economy to boot, you can shop our selection of new 2016 KIA Optimas right now!

KIA Teases Updated Cadenza Prior to LA Auto Show

Lower stance among exterior enhancements hinted by KIA sketches

Cutting edge design and premium sedan features will be harmonized into the upcoming updated KIA Cadenza sketches released late last week. The KIA Cadenza has been in production since 2010, and premium sedan fans in St. Louis and all across the United States have enjoyed what the Cadenza has offered since 2013.

A front three-quarter, rear three-quarter and interior sketch have been released to the public to show off what KIA fans can expect from the update Cadenza, possibly the 2017 model year or maybe even the 2016. From the exterior renderings, a longer hood with a lower, wider and more aggressive stance highlight the exterior enhancements for the updated Cadenza.

The exterior expects to look sharper will still maintaining the sleek contour lines that have made the KIA vehicles from Jim Butler KIA renowned in St. Louis. The new KIA Cadenza will be recognizable and able to compete with the more-expensive European badges not just in price but also in looks.

The interior sketch provides us with a taste of what those who drive and ride in the updated Cadenza will see. A more horizontal dash design upgrades the aesthetics and ergonomics of the driver experience. KIA touts this updates Cadenza, saying it will “maintain the progressive, contemporary image of the current model, while introducing higher levels of luxury and refinement to the large sedan segment.”

Last month, KIA revealed some of the specs of the 2016 Cadenza including a new base trim level and more standard features that were options in 2015. Since KIA is also promoting the new Sportage at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this week, we may not see the new Cadenza until the Detroit Auto Show, but releasing the sketches this close to an auto show is usually a good sign of what a dealer will put on stage.

For those seeking a premium large sedan but don’t want to pay the big price tags that Bavarian and German brands may cost, check out the KIA Cadenza at Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley. 2016 KIA Optima Hybrid Offers Sleek, Eco-friendly Sedan for KIA Fans

Premium features, fuel economy highlights hybrid sedan choice at St. Louis KIA dealerships

The trade-off for hybrid cars and cars with great fuel economy is usually a downgrade in style, or vice versa. With the all-new 2016 KIA Optima Hybrid, St. Louis KIA fans can have both!

The 2.4-liter engine works with a 47-horsepower electric motor that supplies 235 lb.-ft. of torque to the powerplant. This wonderful duo is not only powerful, it is also efficient. The 2016 KIA Optima Hybrid can get up to 40 mpg on the highway!

On the outside, one might not guess that it’s a hybrid car. KIA’s style cues are definitely apparent, as the aerodynamic exterior sets it apart. Additional vents on the front bumper to increase airflow and reduce drag. Low rolling resistance tires are mounted to 16-inch alloy wheels or super low rolling resistance tires are mounted to 17-inch alloy wheels (depending on trim) to help reduce weight and drag. Aluminum instead of steel helps balance the extra weight of the battery.

The available Hybrid Convenience Package turns the hybrid into a premium sedan that rivals the likes of any pure gas one out there. This package adds a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, rear-camera with display, LED front positioning headlights, and an acoustic laminated windshield and front door windows.

The next-step-up Hybrid EX can further be outfitted with the Technology Package, which adds the Panoramic sunroof with gloss black B-pillars, Blind-Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and a Back-up Warning System.

All in all, the 2016 KIA Optima Hybrid offers St. Louis eco-car fans both style and efficiency.

KIA Teases Off-road Concept Vehicles Ahead of 2015 SEMA Show

Sorento, Forte get customized off-road accessories for Las Vegas specialty parts show

KIA will show off six highly customized vehicles that highlight different regions of the U.S. to go where few KIAs have gone before. When one thinks off-road adventure, perhaps an expedition vehicle or ATV can be seen traversing the desert or the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest. At the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, KIA wants to let others know that, even though they’re concepts, KIAs can join in on the fun too.

So far, KIA has given its fans a taste of two of the vehicles it will roll out on display at SEMA this year. From Nov. 3 to 6, those in attendance will get to see the imagination of KIA run wild. First up is the PacWest Adventure Sorento. The humble CUV certainly comes out of its shell with this unqiue concept.

This Sorento goes from CUV to utility vehicle as it takes on a tougher stance with a custom suspension. A snorkel intake and system makes it look like it belongs with the AEV Jeeps. The green exterior paintjob reflects the dense and beautiful forests of the Pacific Northwest. This Sorento would definitely feel at home in the garage of an explorer and in the rainy forests. While we probably won’t see a Sorento such as this at Jim Butler KIA, it is always fun to see what KIA can come up with.

While the Sorento can feel rugged with its available all-wheel drive, KIA took the improbable a step further with one of their vehicles you probably wouldn’t see in a desert environment: the Forte. While you could see a Forte in the suburbs of Chesterfield and St. Louis, it wouldn’t be the first vehicle on many minds when you ask for an off-road vehicle.

But the designers at KIA get to get their hands dirty with the Forte Koup Mud Bogger. The American South is represented by this truly one-of-a-kind Forte Koup. A four-inch body and suspension lift is paired with four 28-inch off-road tires. Though it might look out of its element, the Forte is anything but that. A panoramic roof with a vinyl pushback top was added, and the stripped-down interior where the carpet has been removed; the entire floor is lined with Line-X protective coating. The two Sparco Evo II Red Race Seats have replaced the seats you’d normally find in a Koup.

If you’d like to check out a Forte or Sorento of your own, call Jim Butler KIA at 636-256-9600 or contact us online. As your St. Louis KIA dealer, we invite you to check out our new Souls in-person at our Chesterfield dealership. If you’re in the St. Louis, Chesterfield Valley, Creve Coeur or Maryland Heights area, stop by our lot at 722 Long Road Crossing in Chesterfield.

KIA Soul Wins Active Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year for 4th Straight Time

2016 Soul latest model year to best competition in Urban Category at annual award ceremony

The new year hasn’t even begun, and already the 2016 KIA Soul is garnering awards. The new 2016 KIA Soul emerged victorious in the Urban Category at the 12th annual Active Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year awards in Chandler, Ariz. This marks the four consecutive year that the KIA Soul has won its category.

Local media personnel and athletes rated vehicles from all makes and models to see how they fit with those who lead an active and outdoor lifestyle. The KIA Soul won, yet again, because of its unique combination of style and versatility. The 2016 Soul’s navigability in denser urban areas, such as downtown St. Louis or South St. Louis City, made it the right choice for those who live in the city but love to venture to more outdoor and active areas.

“Combining an iconic design, refined interior, numerous tech features and impressive cargo volume, our urban runabout is a true standout for those seeking a vehicle that supports an active and athletic lifestyle,” Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning at KIA Motors America, said.

For those in the market for a new compact CUV near St. Louis, the 2016 KIA Soul at Jim Butler KIA is already an award-winner! There’s no better time than now to take a look at a new KIA Soul at The KIA Butler. Refined KIA Optima Drives Gracefully in 2016 as Brand’s Best-Seller

Improved handling, premium interior perfects 2016 Optima in competitive midsize segment

For St. Louis KIA fans, the 2016 Optima has finally been officially revealed by KIA, and the wait was well worth it. The 2016 KIA Optima took what it learned from the previous model year and perfected it.

“The Optima changed the way people felt about the KIA brand, and KIA owes much of its growth and success in this country to the car’s head-turning design and sporty performance,” Orth Hedrick, VP of Product Planning at KIA Motors America, said. “The all-new Optima ... has matured in all the right ways, from the European sport-sedan design to the premium materials to its improved ride and handling.”

2016 KIA Optima’s Premium Interior

A longer, wider and stiffer chassis offers a larger cabin for the refined Optima. With the bigger size comes increased comfort for all five trim levels — LX, LX 1.6, EX, SX and SXL. The Optima’s luxurious K900 and Cadenza cousins definitely see an influence in the design.

According to KIA, real stitching along the dash and doors, complemented by tasteful metallic accents, varying by trim level highlight the interior craftsmanship. The cabin is now even more driver-friendly as a cleaner, more unified design will please drivers of the 2016 Optima. By grouping and reducing the number of functional keys and buttons, KIA’s already-superior ergonomics are improved.

Ride Handling Improved for the 2016 Optima

The Optima’s engineering team worked to help improve the ride and handling for the 2016 model year. A lighter and stiffer chassis improves the steering response, handling and stability.

Under the hood, three engine choices can help new St. Louis Optima owners find the balance they want between sport and efficiency. The previous’ Optima’s two engines carry over — the 2.4-liter I4 (available on the LX and EX models) and the 2.0-L turbo engine, available on the SXL and SX trims. Both engines are mated with a six-speed auto transmission with the Sportmatic shifting. Maximum torque is now available at a lower RPM than 2015 thanks to some retuning. This also helps improve the fuel economy of these two engines.

New for 2016 is a smaller yet still feisty 1.6-L turbo I4 engine, exclusive for the LX trim. This engine churns up to 178 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. This new engine is also mated to a new transmission for KIA with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

Premium 2016 Cadenza Looks to Boost KIA’s Line-up in Next Model Year

More trim levels, increased value propels FWD sedan into 2016 at Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield, MO

The KIA Cadenza is coming off an award-winning year and seeks to build off its accolades for 2016. KIA’s premium front-wheel drive sedan won AutoPacifica’s Best Large Car for 2015, and the upcoming model year looks like a breakout year for the Cadenza.

New base trim still retains Cadenza charm

The Cadenza enhances its value for 2016 with three available trim levels and updated options. A new base model has been added to the trim levels for the KIA Cadenza which helps to lower the entry cost. Fans of the Cadenza can still find the almost-luxury sedan’s luxurious appearance even at the base trim.

Base Cadenzas still retain their 18-inch alloy wheels, projector beam headlights, rear LED combination lamps, and front fog lights. Navigation now comes standard across the entire Cadenza line as well as an 8-inch color touchscreen. This intuitive touchscreen features an integrated Rear Camera Display.

KIA included other great features from the upper-level Premium and Limited trims. To enhance the Cadenza’s value, KIA added to the new base trim:

  • a premium Infinity audio system
  • eight-way power adjustable passenger seat
  • 10-way driver’s seat
  • leather seat trim
  • heated front seats
  • Bluetooth wireless connectivity
  • Steering wheel audio controls
  • dual-zone automatic climate control
  • push button start.

Higher trims’ options become standard on 2016 Cadenza

With all the attention on the new base trim, the Cadenza’s Premium and Limited trims aren’t without their changes for 2016. A panoramic sunroof, normally an option, is now standard on the Premium trim. Other additions that up the convenience factor in the Premium trim include steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, UVO eServices with voice command, a 550-watt Infinity audio system, auto rain-sensing wipers and a back-up warning system.

The cream-of-the-crop Luxury trim gains Blind Spot Detection with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert  to improve the safety features on the Cadenza. The Luxury’s SXL’s package comes fully equipped with extra features such as 19-inch chrome alloy wheels, LED fog lights, a Surround-View Monitor and a rear armrest with pop-out cup holders and USB charging port. Cadenza fans will love the Luxury SXL’s unique front grille, premium headliner and additional wood grain style trim.

No matter your 2016 Cadenza trim choice, you’ll be powered by the smooth 3.3-liter V6 and its 293 horsepower and 255 lb.-ft. of torque. Have some fun with the six-speed automatic transmission that includes a Sportmatic manual shift mode.

KIA Soul Offers Comfortable Ride and Storage for St. Louis Families

CUV has roomy dimensions for driver and passengers while providing the storage space needed

Don’t let the size or shape of the KIA Soul fool you. Those who are looking for an SUV-style vehicle for the storage and comfort but don’t want to spend a lot at the pump could consider a KIA Soul from Jim Butler KIA.

The KIA Soul may seem like a typical boxy car, but the Soul is anything but ordinary. Those who don’t know much about the Soul might not think that five adults — let alone a family with children — could fit comfortably in the seats. That’s where the naysayers are wrong.

While the Soul is a function-first vehicle, it doesn’t mean that style and comfort have to take a back seat. The Soul takes its function and turns it into style. Sure, it may look “boxy” to the untrained eye, but don’t let the shape get you down. Take a look for yourself with a test drive of a KIA Soul. You can even bring the children along to see how comfortable of a ride it can be for kids and adults.

The interior is also of durable quality, and the leather accents when used bring a delightful contrast to the quality cloth materials. Drivers will be happy with the intuitive knobs and UVO infotainment system.

To make a great family vehicle, it has to be able to store items. Don’t worry about not having room for the kids’ sports equipment or even your own bike. The seats can even fold flat if you need more storage, so don’t feel out of place at the hardware store picking up some 2x4s.

The Soul doesn’t have to be flashy to be a perfect fit for a family vehicle. Those searching for an underestimated alternative for the traditional large SUVs should definitely check out a KIA Soul from Jim Butler KIA. You can contact us online, and our friendly sales staff will be happy to assist you in your purchasing process.

To learn more about the KIA Soul or to schedule a test drive, call Jim Butler KIA today at 636-256-9600 or contact us online. As your St. Louis KIA dealer, we invite you to check out our new Souls in-person at our Chesterfield dealership. Braggin’ Wagon: KIA Sedona Named ‘Ultimate Minivan’ by Cars.com and MotorWeek

Winner of the Ultimate Minivan Challenger, Sedona is a minivan that offers St. Louis families more

The award-winning 2015 KIA Sedona minivan keeps raking in the recognition as it bested four other minivans in a days-long competition from Cars.com and MotorWeek. After days of evaluation and road tests of varying road types, the KIA Sedona won the Ultimate Minivan Challenge.

Before the road tests began, the minivans were judged on their technology, features and drivetrains. Experts and professionals from Cars.com and MotorWeek teamed up to closely examine these family vehicles. But it wasn’t just the pros’ findings that determined the winners. Opinions from real owners and potential customers for minivans were taken into account. If both the experts and customers picked the KIA Sedona, then you know it’s got to be good!

Beauty is only skin-deep, though. Great looks and features on any car are nothing without good handling and ride. A course of 135 miles was the testing ground for KIA, Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge and Honda minivans. Road types varied on the drives, and the judges drove the minivans back-to-back-to-back on the same pavement to measure the ride, handling, comfort, acceleration and more.

“The all-new Kia Sedona is a champion of quality and refinement,” Patrick Olsen, Cars.com editor-in-chief, said. “A great ride combined with a quiet cabin and numerous innovative features made the Sedona an obvious selection as the ultimate minivan.”

Why the Sedona won “Ultimate Minivan”

The judges were impressed by the Sedona’s style and looks, saying that the Sedona is the best-looking minivan and makes the minivan cool to drive. Cars.com and MotorWeek were also pleased with KIA’s ride and steering.

The Sedona stood out among the competition with its long list of features, most notably the Surround View Monitor to help with parking situations and standard heated and cooled front seats. The Sedona’s second-row seats are “magnificent ... Passengers will call shotgun to sit there, not up front” according to Kelsey Mays, senior editor for Cars.com.

This award adds to the Sedona’s trophy case this year. KIA’s minivan already won the J.D. Power APEAL award along with being named on of Ward’s 10 Best Interiors for the 2015 model year. With recognition such as this, the Sedona is ready to be your next family vehicle! Contact Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley to test drive one of these award-winners today!

2016 Sorento CUV Brings Refined Look While Still Maintaining Functionality

Third-generation KIA Sorento still keeps space expected of CUV yet keeps modern look

The KIA Sorento has been providing St. Louis families with a functional crossover for more than a decade. The form and functionality of the Sorento hasn’t changed over the years, but the look certainly has. Even though it has grown in size since 2002, the Sorento has shaken off the bulkier look of the past to create a modern CUV.

On the inside, the Sorento has grown to accommodate more trunk room, head room and leg room, meaning a more comfortable ride and storage for more of your items. A sliding second-row arrangement gives more passenger space for the rear. The cabin is European-designed and adds to the longer, wider and lower body.

Exterior changes throughout past styles that make the Sorento look modern include update side panels, LED daytime running lights and a strong front end. The available UVO infotainment system brings a modern flare to the Sorento, and the seats feel luxurious without a luxury price tag. Available features such as rearview camera and parking sensors help create a safer environment for the Sorento and its precious cargo.

Handling has been improved since the Sorento’s inception, and the 0-60 time of just less than10 seconds is impressive considering the size of the vehicle. The Sorento’s towing capabilities make it an excellent choice for a vehicle for St. Louis families as it can tow up to 4,400 pounds.

The 2016 KIA Sorento at Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield, MO, is proof that style can be functional and functionality can be stylish. When opted with the all-wheel drive, a Sorento might just be the perfect choice for your next family vehicle!

2016 KIA Optima Updates Include More Luxurious Cabin, New Engine Choice

Sporty performance sedan looks to build momentum as KIA’s No. 1-selling nameplate

The KIA Optima has been not only KIA’s best-selling model but also one of the most popular cars in America. However, KIA found a way to improve the sedan for the 2016 model year. Under the care of KIA president and chief design officer Peter Schreyer, the Optima built on its modern design cues and athletic identity.

On the exterior, the 2016 Optima is longer, taller and wider. These changes translate into a roomier cabin and more cargo space in the trunk. On SX and SXL trims, the iconic tiger nose grille design resembles the luxury K900. Three new design choices for the 18-inch wheels vary on the trim level, and three new exterior colors are available — a vibrant blue, dynamic grey and deep red.

New turbo engine choice and transmission

Three new engine choices for 2016 strike a balance between efficiency and sportiness. The 2.4-liter engine and the 2.0-L turbo engine will still sit happily under the hoods of 2016 Optimas, but a newcomer will now be available. A 1.6-L I4 turbo powerplant will be offered on the LX trim for 2016. Drivers can get up to 195 lb.-ft. of torque, and this turbo offering is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, a first for KIA.

Interior craftsmanship

A larger cabin with class-up touches defines the interior. KIA’s premium models such as the K900 and Cadenza played a role in the design of the 2016 Optima’s interior as more soft touch materials are seen throughout. More hand stitching, metallic accents and a more unified design showcase the care and attention for the KIA Optima by its builders and designers.

The interior design team also paid particular attention to seat comfort.  A stiffer seat frame reduces vibration and soft foam in the headrest and upper back, and denser, more supportive foam in thigh-support areas allows occupants to nestle into seats with deeper side bolsters.

Convenience and technology both see an upgrade for the new model year. The UVO infotainment system comes standard, and the 2016 Optima will have available Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on models later in the release, a first for KIA. A back-up camera is available for every Optima trim level along with helpful driver-aid technology. This driver-aid technology includes blind spot detection, lane departure warning system and more.

The Optima is set for another great year satisfying owners new and loyal with its engine offerings, refined cabin and overall superb feel. Check Jim Butler KIA’s inventory for the latest and greatest KIAs in Chesterfield Valley!

Next-gen Sportage Revealed Inside and Out Before Auto Show Debut

Redesigned interior gives KIA CUV an updated look for 2017 model year

The next-generation KIA Sportage will take the stage at the Frankfurt Auto Show later this month, but KIA fans can catch a glimpse of the 2017 KIA Sportage right now — and that includes exterior and interior photos!

KIA promises the most refined, highest-quality cabin to date for the next-gen Sportage, and the new interior shots show a definite redesign. New technology features and active safety features abound.

The redesigned dashboard includes the large display screen, most likely the UVO infotainment system. A flat-bottomed steering wheel and new options such as cooled seats and a heated steering wheel should be available. The cabin appears to give off a more horizontal look than its predecessors, and Edmunds.com said wireless phone charging should be a feature on the 2017 Sportage.

The same man, Peter Schreyer, who redesigned the Optima headed the design on the new Sportage. Noticeable exterior changes include higher headlights and a lower grille next to quad driving lights on both sides. KIA said the new stance of the Sportage is more “imposing ... and stable-looking.”

A GT trim level looks like it will be added to at least the Sportage line. Other noticeable features include chrome accents and a metallic skid plate.

The next-gen Sportage will be ready to take on the Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Outlander and Mazda CX-5. St. Louis CUV fans can find new KIA Sportages now at the KIA Butler, Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley!

Stylish KIA Cadenza Earns Ideal Vehicle Award in Large Car Segment

KIA’s premium sedan meets needs, wants and expectations of buys according to surveys

The eye-catching 2015 KIA Cadenza adds another award to its mantle as the premium sedan wins AutoPacifica’s Ideal Vehicle Award (IVA) for the Large Car Category. AutoPacifica surveyed more than 65,000 new-car owners about a multitude of experiences including handling, comfort, storage, technology, engine power and more.

Earlier this summer, the Cadenza took home a Vehicle Satisfaction Award from AutoPacifica as well. It’s easy to see why owners of the 2015 Cadenza love the KIA sedan so much. The 2015 KIA Cadenza at Jim Butler KIA is a combination of luxury, performance and technology rolled into one astounding package that defies expectations.

“AutoPacific’s Ideal Vehicle Award is important because it represents the voice of the customer and offers confirmation that the Cadenza’s blend of world-class design, quality and features is hitting the mark with KIA owners,” Orth Hedrick, KIA Motors America’s Vice President of Product Planning, said.

A 3.3-liter V6 engine powers along the Cadenza and churns out 293 horsepower. Wireless Bluetooth Connectivity, rear-camera display, tilt steering wheel, push-button start and dual map lights are part of the long list of standard features. Latest Sketches Show What Next-gen Sportage May Look Like

Keeping close with spy shots, new Sportage set for public debut in Frankfurt in September

After spy shots were divulged of the next-generation KIA Sportage, KIA’s European design team whipped up some sketches of just what that new Sportage should look like without the camouflage cover on it. The sketches seem to closely resemble the aforementioned spy shots.

One of the most noticeable changes on the exterior happens right up front. While the grille may keep much of the same composition, the front LED headlights are swept back for a more streamlined, sleeker approach. The CUV almost takes on the shape of a sports coupe as the roof arches back more. In the back, the LED taillights stretch across the hatch.

KIA promises the most refined, highest-quality cabin to date for the next-gen Sportage. While the interior shots showed only the front seats, the sketches presented by KIA give a better idea of what the driver and front-seat passenger will experience. It appears that the UVO touchscreen is angled more toward the driver as a wrap-around feature as opposed to earlier Sportage models.

Whether the United States and Jim Butler KIA will see a Sportage such as this remains to be seen, but the public reveal of the newly styled Sportage will take place on Sept. 15 in Frankfurt, Germany. Stay tuned to Jim Butler KIA’s blog and social media for updates on the Sportage and other KIA models!

Luxurious K900 Eligible for Sign It & Drive It Event at Jim Butler KIA

$0 down on flagship KIA sedan all that’s needed for 36-month lease from the KIA Butler

For St. Louis luxury car fans, the current offers for the 2015 KIA K900 Luxury at Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley don’t get much better than this. Many members of the KIA line-up are enjoying the Sign It & Drive It event, and the K900 is no exception!

As St. Louis’ exclusive K900 dealer, Jim Butler KIA is offering the 2015 K900 Luxury for $0 down for a 36-month lease. The K900 gives its owners luxury feel, style and performance without the traditional European luxury pricetag. From the aerodynamic exterior to the 5.0-liter V8 mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the K900 lives and breathes luxury.

Jim Butler KIA offers $0 down when BMW, Audi don’t

The KIA K900 has become somewhat of a darkhorse in the luxury sedan segment, but more and more luxury fans are starting to take notice. Comparisons have been made holding up the K900 to the likes of BMW and Audi.

Where KIA excels is the current offers for a luxury sedan in St. Louis. The Sign It & Drive it event means those who purchase a K900 from Jim Butler KIA put $0 down for a 36-month lease starting at $599 per month.

All of those details of the lease — $0 down (excluding tax, title, license and dealer fees), 36 months, starting $599 a month, 12,000 miles per year — all best the competition for luxury vehicles in the same field as the K900. Let’s take a quick look at the current lease offers for BMW:

2015 BMW 740Ld xDrive
$4,500 down payment
Starting at $919/month for 24 months
10,000 miles per year
$6,344 cash due at signing

Lined up next to the K900, the comparably equipped BMW 740Ld may have the BMW name, but the German sedan requires thousands in down payments and cash due at signing for fewer miles per year, a shorter lease and higher monthly payments.

Now let’s review the offering from the comparably equipped 2015 Audi A8:

2015 Audi A8
$8,545 cash due at signing
Starting at $855/month for 36 months
10,000 miles per year

Well, this is a bit closer to the K900’s offering, but still miles away. While the lease is for the same length, the mileage is less per year. Pus, you shouldn’t have to fork over nearly $9,000 to drive a luxury car just because of the European nameplate.

The K900 offers you what other luxury cars can for a fraction of the cost even if the Sign It & Drive It event wasn’t going on. Now is the time to check out and test-drive a K900 for yourself at Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield, MO, your exclusive K900 dealer for St. Louis. It’s time to rethink luxury and think K900!

To learn more about the K900 or to schedule a test drive, call Jim Butler KIA today at 636-256-9600 or contact us online. Spy Shots of New KIA Crossover Could be a Hybrid

As CUV market grows, KIA looks to add to toolbelt with possible EV-mode hybrid CUV

KGP Photography and Left Lane News
Recent spy shots (credit to KGP Photography and LeftLane News) show what could be a new CUV for KIA. Those who have examined the photographs say that it could also have a hybrid variant. The subcompact CUV would fit right in with KIA’s current line-up with the likes of the Sorento and Sportage.

In terms of competition, the supposed new KIA crossover will rival current market options such as the Nissan Juke and new Honda HR-V. According to reports from AutoNews, the new KIA hybrid could be capable of running in an electric-only mode. Video of the hybrid testing calls it the “Niro,” but no official name has been announced yet.

Some exterior details that can be seen in the spy shots include high yet styled headlights and wheels at the corner of the vehicle. The instrument cluster is clearly readable from the few interior spy shots, and this is where the EV mode information comes from as well.

This is good news for those in St. Louis who are both hybrid and KIA fans. An EV-capable CUV would definitely open up new opportunities for the KIA brand and Jim Butler KIA. As this hybrid is just in the testing phase, no official announcement has been made regarding the upcoming KIA hybrid CUV, but be sure to stay tuned to Jim Butler KIA’s blog and social media for the latest in KIA news!

Sedona Ranks Highest in Minivan Segment for J.D. Power APEAL Award

Industry recognition latest for KIA minivans amid its record-setting sales year

The 2015 KIA Sedona is living up to its billing as a minivan that does and offers more.

J.D. Power awarded the Sedona minivan with its Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) award for the minivan segment. Sedona bested rivals such as Honda, Nissan and Chrysler to take home the hardware.

The J.D. Power APEAL study measures new-vehicle owners’ overall satisfaction with their vehicles in the first 90 days of ownership. The results are divided into 10 categories and weighted accordingly: exterior, interior, storage, audio, seats, heating and ventilation, driving dynamics, powertrain, visibility, and fuel economy.

“The redesign of Sedona ... is an extraordinary success story for the Kia brand,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning for Kia Motors America, said. “Sedona’s superior combination of a strong, confident design, advanced safety features, and premium amenities, is revolutionizing the minivan segment.”

A new Sedona presents so much more than a minivan for St. Louis families. A standard 3.3-liter V6 engine can certainly excite drivers, and the first-class “lounge seating” and CUV-like appearance means a minivan that breaks the mold.

The 2015 KIA Sedona’s accolade follows up the brand’s previous award from J.D. Power. In June, KIA was ranked as the best non-luxury brand in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. The same models available at Jim Butler KIA in Chesterfield Valley beat out juggernauts such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Buick.
