For this year’s “10 Best Interiors” list conducted by WardsAuto, 41 vehicles were looked at based on ergonomics, driver information, fit-and-finish, materials, value, safety, comfort and design.  Making the list this year is the KIA Soul at Jim Butler KIA in St. Louis.

The KIA Soul was the lowest-priced among the 10 vehicles but still proved to have one of the best interiors in the industry.  The Soul was recognized for its two-toned interior and comfort.  According to WardsAuto, the KIA Soul also had the “grooviest interior” out of all ten vehicles.

Jim Butler KIA Presents the New 2015 KIA Sedona

The 2015 KIA Sedona coming to Jim Butler KIA in St. Louis offers everything from a roomier cabin to the being equipped with the latest technologies. The new Sedona is top in its class!

The 2015 KIA Sedona is made from 76-percent high-strength steel making it 36-percent stiffer than the best of its competition. With the new improvements, KIA expects the new Sedona to get a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Equipped with a 3.3-liter V6, the 2015 Sedona is good for 276 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The all-new Sedona will be the first KIA to offer four new eServices features including Geo-fencing, Speed Alert, Curfew Alert and Driving Score.  The latest technology including a new UVO system with Siri “Eyes Free6” and local search are available and allow easy access to finding locations, addresses and points of interest.

New Yet-To-Be-Named KIA Coming to Jim Butler KIA

There’s a new KIA coming to town and Jim Butler KIA can’t wait. The new KIA will be making its first appearance at the upcoming New York auto show later this month.

Although the new KIA remains nameless, we do know that the eight passenger vehicle will feature sliding rear doors and a sporty exterior look. It is unknown what the engine type or transmission type will be for the new van but KIA assures that “this global debut will challenge the segment.”

KIA Looking to Make a Two-Door Soul?

It’s true, the popular KIA Soul might be transforming into a two-door Soul-based coupe. The KIA Soul leads in sales numbers among subcompact crossover/wagon competitors in the U.S. and at Jim Butler KIA in St. Louis.

Similar to the KIA Track’ster concept which debut two years ago at the Chicago Auto Show, the new two-door Soul may have a 250-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine. KIA claims this engine will fit under the hood of the two-door Soul if the coupe ever goes to production.

The New Electric 2015 KIA Soul EV

Making its debut at the Chicago Auto Show, the 2015 KIA Soul EV showed off its electric capabilities. The 2015 KIA Soul EV will be for sale later this year at Jim Butler KIA in St. Louis.

The 2015 KIA Soul EV will have a range expectation of 80 to 100 miles taking 24 hours, on an ordinary household current, to charge. With a 240-volt charger, the new Soul EV will take 5 hours to fully charge. For the fastest possible charge, buyers can opt for a 50 KW system charging the 2015 KIA Soul EV to 80% in about 33 minutes.

Fitted with three charging ports, the 2015 KIA Soul EV offers two ports for conventional AC charging and one for CHAdeMo public stations. CHAdeMo meaning CHArge de Move, can charge the Soul in less than 30 minutes. Three charger suppliers will be offered including Bosch, Leviton and AeroVironment.

The new 2015 KIA Soul EV will provide two operating presets- Eco On and Eco Off. Each will offer “Drive” and “Brakes” modes which can capture as much as 12 percent of the lost kinetic energy.

Powered by a liquid-cooled AC synchronous permanent magnet electric motor, the 2015 KIA Soul EV is good for 109 horsepower and 210 Ib-ft of torque. The new Soul is estimated to do 0-to-60-mph in less than 12 seconds.

An app displaying all recharging stations will be available plus KIA dealers who sell electric Souls will offer free recharging to KIA customers!

The Refreshed 2014 KIA Optima Hybrid Coming to Jim Butler KIA in St. Louis

The Chicago Auto Show revealed a refreshed 2014 KIA Optima Hybrid. With updated front and rear fascias, the 2014 KIA Optima Hybrid was designed with efficiency in mind. Jim Butler Kia cannot wait to get the 2014 KIA Optima Hybrid on the lot in St. Louis!

The 2014 KIA Optima Hybrid showed off its eco-friendly additions including updated front and rear fascias designed to increase aerodynamic efficiency, new wheel designs, and unique grill and lighting elements. 

The new Hybrid has a combined gas-electric 199 horsepower rating and a combined 235 Ib.-ft. of torque with its 47 HP electric traction motor. Available in two trims, the LX and EX models, with the LX model achieving an EPA estimated 36 mpg city and 40 mpg highway. The EX trim gets an EPA estimated 35 mpg city and 39 mpg highway.

Inside the new 2014 Optima Hybrid you will find a 4.3-inch TFT LCD instrument cluster and optional high-resolution 8-inch navigation and telematics screen.  Other high-tech features include push button ignition, UVO eServices, 8-speaker Infinity sound system and SiriusXM Traffic.

Advanced safety features including passenger advanced front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, four-wheel Antilock Brake System, Vehicle Stability Management and Electronic Stability Control come standard with all trims of the 2014 Optima Hybrid.

KIA Reveals a New Dual-Clutch Gearbox and Mild Hybrid at Geneva Motor show

The future of KIA looks bright with new additions hopefully making their way to Jim Butler KIA in St. Louis soon! The new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and mild hybrid powertrain made a big debut at the recent 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

The new seven-speed gearbox comprises of two dry clutches fitted with electric motor-driven actuators. According to KIA, it is 7 percent more efficient than the six-speed and improves acceleration times 5 percent. We may even see the new seven-speed gearbox in vehicles next year; however it has not been said when it will make its way to the U.S.

Combining battery, electric motor, and a small engine supercharger the new mild hybrid system increases power by 15 to 20 percent. The electric motor allows for a pure electric mode at low speed and cruising situations. Powered by a 48-volt lead-carbon battery, the mild hybrid battery is said to do better in cold weather as well as  easier to recycle.

The new 2015 KIA Sedona minivan has been spotted! The 2015 KIA Sedona minivan is set to make its debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show and Jim Butler KIA cannot wait to get more details about this one of a kind minivan.

The 2015 KIA Sedona will have more refined drivetrains and interior updates. With expected safety feature upgrades like blind-spot detection and a lane-departure warning system, the KIA Sedona will be the perfect family vehicle to keep you safe on the streets in St. Louis!

We can only assume that the new 2015 KIA Sedona minivan will feature Kia’s UVO infotainment system plus additional newer technologies. Fuel economy figures should also improve with the help of fuel-saving features like direct injection and electric power steering.

Customer Spotlight- Peter and Kathleen Passanisi

Peter Passanisi and his wife Kathleen, just purchased their third KIA from Jim Butler. They long awaited the 2014 KIA Soul, but also had a particular color in mind. The rare "Alien Green" color option wasn't going to be available until late production but Peter was patient for the vehicle. Pete's salesman, Mike McLean, kept them updated each week on the progress of the vehicle. Short and sweet messages like "It's in production", "It's on the boat", "It's in the shipyard awaiting transport" and finally "It's HERE!"

Peter and Kathleen are lifelong residents of the St. Louis area, with Peter growing up on "The Hill". Later, after their daughter moved away they decided to move out the Lake St. Louis. They absolutely love having the lake just steps away from their backdoor. Kathleen says they often entertain at their home since Peter is so enthusiastic about cooking fine foods. If they ever do go out, they like to go to Pasta Ria in Clayton.

These two are a very unique couple, with Kathleen being a motivational speaker and owner of "New Perspectives". Kathleen is a published author, humorist and in the Speaker Hall of Fame. The 2014 KIA Soul 2.0 coming to Jim Butler KIA in St. Louis is redesigned and better than ever! The 2014 KIA Soul 2.0 is a little bigger with a new body shell.

With a new 2.0-liter engine option and direct fuel injection, the 2014 KIA Soul 2.0 is good for 164 horsepower. The new engine is made to deliver its torque in the rpm band. The new Soul 2.0 goes from 0-60 in 8.1 seconds.

The new 2014 KIA Soul 2.0 is heavier weighing in at 3,112 pounds and is a much quieter ride.  EPA for the Soul 2.0 is 23/31. The Soul is also well equipped with leather seats, a panoramic sunroof and navigation system.

The GTa Stinger- Jim Butler KIA

KIA will be unveiling a new concept vehicle at the 2014 Detroit auto show. The new sports concept car will be called the GTa Stinger.

We won’t know the full details about the KIA GTa Stinger until it’s revealed at the Detroit auto show but we do know that it will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four good for 315 horsepower. The new KIA concept GTA Stinger will sit on 20-inch wheels and low-mounted LED headlights.

The KIA Soul EV Coming to Jim Butler KIA

The all-new KIA Soul EV is coming to the U.S. and Jim Butler KIA can’t wait to get the new Soul on the lot in St. Louis. The KIA Soul EV is set to make its debut at the Detroit auto show in January.

Powered by a 109-hp electric motor which is good for 210 Ib-ft of torque, the KIA Soul EV is the perfect car for city commuters. The KIA Soul EV has a 27-kWh lithium-ion polymer pack that takes just 25 minutes to be fully charged while using a 10-kilowatt circuit.

The KIA Soul EV goes from 0-60 in less than 12 seconds with a top speed of 90 mph. The maximum range of daily miles is 120 miles. The KIA Soul EV will feature 16-inch wheels, LED rear lamps, and projector-beam headlights. The interior comes equipped with an eight-inch screen to display energy data.

The 2014 KIA Forte5 SX Turbo

The all-new 2014 KIA Forte5 SX Turbo will be making its way to Jim Butler KIA in St. Louis. The redesigned forte has been redesigned with improvements and three different body styles.

The 2014 KIA Forte5 SX Turbo will be offered in a formal sedan, a coupe, and a five-door hatch. The KIA Forte5 is bigger and better with 2 inches added on the wheelbase, half-inch longer in length and a bit wider and a little lower.

The performance version of the Forte is the SIX, which features a 1.6-liter turbo four engine. The turbo four engine is good for 201 horsepower and 195 Ib-ft of torque paired with a six-speed manual transmission.  The SIX feels much quicker than what its numbers are.

The 2014 KIA Forte5 SX Turbo has a new chassis with a revised front-strut, and rear-torsion-beam suspension. The Forte5 sits on 225/40-18 Nexen CP67 all-season tires. With the news updates, the 2014 KIA Forte5 SX Turbo has improved all over agility and provides for a smoother ride.
