Current Events: The 2025 Kia EV6 Sparks 9 Game-Changing Updates

2025 Kia EV6

The 2025 Kia EV6 is on its way to us here at Jim Butler Kia of St Louis, bringing exciting updates that blend cutting-edge technology, refined style, and smart practicality — all while keeping the bold, futuristic look drivers already love. Kia has fine-tuned this electric crossover to make daily drives more enjoyable and long road trips even smoother. Here’s what shoppers can look forward to when the refreshed EV6 arrives:

1. Bold New Design Details

The 2025 EV6 sports sharper lines and eye-catching ‘Star Map’ LED headlights, giving it a stronger family resemblance to other new Kia models. At the back, redesigned three-dimensional taillights and a more sculpted rear bumper enhance its road presence. Each trim will feature its own distinct bumper styling, while new wheel designs — ranging from 19 to 21 inches — further emphasize its sporty character. And, for added convenience, pop-out flush door handles are now standard across the lineup.

2. More Range, More Capability

Drivers will enjoy longer journeys thanks to improvements in battery capacity. The upgraded 84 kWh battery pack now delivers an estimated 319 miles of range in rear-wheel-drive models. The EV6 also steps up its utility, with towing capacity increasing to 2,700 lbs, complete with automatic trailer weight detection that smartly adjusts range projections.

3. Smarter Infotainment

Inside, the EV6 features an ultra-modern curved dual 12.3-inch display that integrates both driver information and infotainment controls. The new Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system boasts faster processing and the ability to receive over-the-air updates. Drivers can even customize the display with their favorite NBA team’s colors and logos, and in-car video streaming is available for entertainment on the go.

4. Easier Charging with NACS and V2G Capability

Kia has relocated the charging port (except on GT models) to the driver’s side rear fender and adopted the North American Charging Standard (NACS), granting access to Tesla’s vast Supercharger network. The 2025 EV6 is also expected to introduce vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capability, letting owners power their homes during outages or potentially sell energy back to the grid.

5. Quieter, More Refined Cabin

The cabin is even more serene thanks to new sound-absorbing materials. Kia has also redesigned the center console with a textured finish and added an improved wireless phone charger that prevents slipping, making daily driving feel more upscale and user-friendly.

6. Smoother, More Responsive Steering

A belt-driven steering system improves responsiveness, while a new D-shaped steering wheel with hands-on detection technology ensures safer, more confident driving. Electric tilt-and-telescoping adjustments add further comfort and convenience for drivers of all sizes.

7. Parking Made Simpler

The updated Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 makes navigating tight spaces a breeze. Additional forward, side, and reverse collision avoidance systems and improved highway driving assistance help make everyday driving and parking stress-free.

8. Convenient Digital Key 2.0

With Digital Key 2.0, drivers can unlock and start their EV6 using compatible smartphones or NFC smart cards — and even share access with others through a simple text message. No more fumbling for keys!

9. Built in the USA

The 2025 Kia EV6 (excluding the GT model) will be built at Kia’s West Point, Georgia facility. This not only helps ensure a steady supply but could also bring additional benefits for buyers in the form of eligibility for federal tax incentives.

The wait is almost over — and there’s never been a better time to experience the future of driving! The 2025 Kia EV6 is rolling into showrooms with bold styling, smarter tech, longer range, and confidence-boosting features that make every trip — whether it’s a daily commute or a weekend road trip — feel exciting and effortless.

From its sleek new design and customizable digital displays to smoother steering and parking assistance that practically does the work for you, this electric crossover is built to impress and engineered to perform.

Kia EV6 GT Prepares to Make History as Kia’s Most Powerful Production Vehicle Ever During Monterey Car Week

2023 Kia EV6 GT

Last week in beautiful Monterey, California, Kia gave North American auto enthusiasts their first look at the 576-horsepower EV6 GT performance crossover during “the Quail” official Motorsports Gathering. This officially presented the incoming model alongside true supercars from other locations all over the globe, and marks the thrilling beginning of the Plan S electrification phase for us here at Jim Butler Kia of St Louis.

Kia Executive Vice President Steven Center exclaimed last week that “This release will elevate the EV6’s standout performance and effortless drivability beyond expectations while moving toward our tailpipe 0 emissions goals.” Riding on the award-winning E-GMP modular platform, the EV6 GT offers a fine-tuned preview of the future of electric performance vehicles. The EV6 joins (and leads!) the scene of the current electric vehicle formal ballroom with its dual-motor AWD powertrain, and 77.4 kWh Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese battery back, together busting out a combined power output of 430 kilowatts and 546 lb-ft of torque.

Aligned with the gritty sentiment and pavement-ready thrills of previous top models, the EV6 GT now completes the zero to 60 mph dash in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 161 mph. AMCI is one of the world's leading experts regarding automotive independent testing, and during the EV6 GT’s engrossing test drives with them, it sprinted off the line faster than a Ferrari Roma and Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder. The dedicated sport suspension’s electronically controlled dampers and front suspension performance components assist with the sensational handling and very balanced ride.

Stability and traction are massively improved with an electronic limited-slip differential during cornering, which efficiently sends needed torque to the wheels. The EV6 GT’s driving modes all offer a completely different and excitement-prone driving approach: GT Drive Mode, My Drive Mode, and Drift Mode on top of the standard Eco, Normal, Sport, and Snow drive modes provide ways to rapidly tweak the motor, steering, braking, and suspension to your situational liking. There are also Active Sound Designs integrated as well: additions such as this preserve the exhilaration and outright thrill that was one finer point of the cars that will soon become less common!

Another trait that we feel will see the EV6 GT defining itself as an unquestionable class leader is its ability to recharge at a rate that is as noteworthy as its memorable acceleration. With 800 Volt fast charging capabilities, you can regenerate 80% of the battery’s capacity amazingly in under 18 minutes with a 350-kW charger. Undergoing design and in-depth testing at well-equipped studios in Frankfurt, Irvine, and Seoul, the finished product of the EV6 GT incorporated the “Opposites United” theme that sources inspirational bits from the patterns seen in the ever-evolving Earth’s nature.

When the EV6 GT officially goes on sale in the fourth quarter of this year, every buyer will substantially benefit from a charging credit of 1,000 kWh that they can use over three years at any Electrify America station.

Kia EV6 Deliveries Display “Anticipation of Spring” Spirit as Officially now Running 3 Months Ahead of Schedule

At Jim Butler Kia, we were on the very spring-inspired news end when we received confirmation this week that the deliveries of our highly anticipated Kia EV6 model reported early delivery!

A verified Reddit user reported their celebrated delivery of the brand-new Kia EV6 just two days ago, and another user in the UK got their model and is prepared to tear up the roads in glee! He wrote in the comments of the original post that he had chosen the “GT-Line All-Wheel Drive with the 77.4kWh battery pack”, and that he was elated with it so far. The Car and Driver team had high praise after their test drive of the EV6 for its slim and low front end, well-sculpted fenders, and generous interior space.

There is a well-positioned USB port on the seatbacks for the rear passengers, and the floating center console is where you’ll find the start/stop button, a round gear selector, and the wireless phone charger. This interior does not attempt to be anything near to conventional and immediately conveys that the EV6 is of a refreshingly futuristic and multi-capable category. The EV6 will immediately get up to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, and you’ll quickly be able to reach the urban-dweller’s virtually reckless and careening speed of 115 mph.

The 800-volt architecture and 350-kW DC fast-charging capability is under the guise of Kia’s promise that you can add nearly 70 miles in less than five minutes and can also get from 10 to 80 percent in under 18 minutes. Tough terrain can be conquered courtesy of the EV6’s front and multilink rear suspension setup, as well as with the precise steering, capable brakes, and minimal body roll. It has been a refreshing feeling to see that more EV’s now have “real” front ends. Many tried-and-true car experts bask in the fact that it’s normal for an electric car to have a commonplace interior.

Much sleeker and sharper than the boxy and retro Kia Soul, the finished concept and well-engineered idea of the coupe SUV leaves plenty of room for both battery packs. The EV6 can cut notable numbers on a twisty road, with 300-plus mile range, fast-charging capability, and stylish appearance all suitably aligned with our goal of being fully carbon-neutral by 2045. We are very excited to see electric cars on the come up in 2022. We can’t wait for everyone at Jim Butler Kia to experience the new, innovative amenities with electric vehicles that we know will change the automotive game forever!

Kia EV6 Crossover Delivers Sports-Car Inspiration and Innovative Design Features

As many changes in the automotive world have occurred over the last decade, the incoming addition of electrified models is one of our most intense and long-awaited events here at Jim Butler KIA of St Louis. The all-new 2022 Kia EV6 crossover arrives as our very first dedicated battery electric vehicle, marking the beginning of Kia's “Plan S” strategy is implemented to provide 11 new all-electrified models within the next four years.

The E-GMP modular platform this vehicle will ride on is designed for maximum development efficiency and now enables the KIA brand to include sedans, CUVs, and SUVs as we expand our all-electric offerings. Classic sports-car inspiration enjoys a vivid and functional balance with modern CUV accents here, as well as the shared 114.2-inch wheelbase as the Kia Telluride. The design team hard at work on the EV6 were focused on the usefulness and value of very quick charging times, as this is one of the statistics that will rise every year as technology advances.

An estimated 300 miles of all-electric range offers up a capability that is more than needed for the average urban commuter during a busy week. Expected to go on sale early next year, the highly-anticipated arrival of the GT should take place in late 2022. Limited to just 1,500 units, the EV6 First Edition possesses the standard design's styling, with added touches like black wheel arches, the Augmented Reality Heads-Up Display, Remote Smart Parking Assist, wide sunroof, 20-inch wheels, premium 14-speaker Meridian audio system, and a two-year subscription to Sirius XM.

The E-GMP technology at the forefront of the EV6 boasts a revolutionary first in the auto world: this is the first mass-produced integrated drive axle to enhance ride comfort and handling which sees the drive shaft combined with wheel bearings to cut down on unnecessary weight. The placement of the battery is an all-important element that was one of the very first hurdles encountered when electrification began to become a reality, and the EV6  sees battery placement directly under the floor, which promotes a lower center of gravity that promotes a very stable ride.

It's not just the power source that the battery provides: it offers other features such as the world's very first multi-charging system. This provides support for 400v and 800v DC charging, working on DC chargers compatible with 50kW on up to 350kW. What amazes us here at Jim Butler the most about the new EV6? The 800v DC charging option from a 350 kW charger allows for nearly 70 miles of charge added in less than 5 minutes, a startling accomplishment compared to what was available just two years ago. Boasting 100% vegan leather surfaces on some trims and extensive use of recycled plastic inside, individuals most concerned with the planet's health and longevity will want to double down on this savvy and feature-rich new EV!
